Ardley Landfill Site Capping

Permanent and temporary capping of Landfill cell and associated works.

Ardley Landfill was VHE’s third project for Viridor and was at the operational site in Oxfordshire. Our works involved both permanent and temporary capping of a Landfill cell including:

• Regrading of waste and placement of 200mm Clay regulating layer
• Installation of a LLDPE Geomembrane, on permanent and temporary cell covers
• Installation of a Geocomposite
• Placement of 1000mm of restoration soils over the geocomposite
• Cultivation of restoration soils
• Grass seeding of capped area and 12 months aftercare
• Gas collection system works including drilling new wells and installation of differing diameter gas pipes with manifolds and KOP
• Drilling and installation of a Leachate abstraction system on a completed cell
• Construction of drainage works
• Construction of Site haul road
