The decontamination and removal of buildings and soils impacted by various nuclear programmes as well as sites adversely affected by the use of radioactive materials has long formed a part of our diverse portfolio. VHE’s expertise in safe and carefully managed remediation techniques has been applied for customers such as UKAEA, BNFL and the MoD.

Through the close collaboration with our sister company, Shepley Engineers, we have been particularly successful in this field over recent years – their record and reputation for working in potentially hazardous conditions such as Sellafield really is unrivalled.

Shepley Engineers is a major mechanical contractor and project manager specialising in term contract works, including nuclear and chemical process plants. This work involves high integrity fabrications and assemblies in carbon, stainless steels and exotic materials in toxic or environmentally sensitive areas.
