Iain joined VHE in October 2005 following the completion of his degree in Environmental Earth Science to work on a major remediation scheme at the former gas works site in Huddersfield. His duties involved general site environmental monitoring, taking soil samples for chemical and geotechnical analysis and interpreting the results, together with monitoring the progress of bioremediation and interpreting chemical soil analysis. Iain has a vast amount of experience with gas works projects and is WAMITAB - Contaminated Land Remediation, SCO 1 & 2 and SHEA Gas qualified.
Tony Walton is a highly experienced civil engineer who has worked in the remediation sector for much of his career. Tony has worked across the UK on highly complex brownfield projects and gasworks sites.
He has undertaken works from conception to validation on numerous remediation and demolition projects and is experienced in working in environmentally sensitive areas. He has also completed scour protection and coastal defence works.
Tony was Contracts Manager on VHE's Hub Cluster sites in the North West for National Grid Property Holdings, enabling the transfer, re-use and treatment of materials across four sites simultaneously. The use of a hub and cluster approach enabled treatment of materials that would have otherwise been impossible due to the limited space on the sites and also enabled the transfer of materials between sites that might have otherwise been disposed of to landfill.
He is qualified to WAMITAB TMS4.
