This project involved the remediation of gardens to domestic properties which had been constructed on a former 1960s landfill site.
Our work involved the demolition of house extensions and the installation of coffer dams adjacent to the properties to facilitate the removal of materials. We then removed areas of previously landfilled waste and constructed a cut off wall using the natural clay and a geocomposite layer before backfilling the site. Finally we rebuilt two house extensions on completion and reinstated the gardens to these properties.
The work involved extensive dialogue with the residents to keep them appraised of operations as some remained in occupancy throughout the contract. The remedial works to the property extensions and gardens were also of a bespoke nature.
