Forest Edge, Downton

Customer:National House Builders Council

Value: £0.6m

National House Builders Council awarded VHE the contract for the remediation of gardens and open spaces with asbestos contaminated soils, including reinstatement of patios and paths.

The site consists of five properties located to the south of the village of Downton which is approximately nine kilometres south of Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Intrusive investigations demonstrated that the asbestos was present within made ground and not within the underlying natural strata.

Made ground was removed in all areas except underneath the house footprint, i.e. front gardens, rear gardens and areas of communal landscaping at the front of the properties. Excavation was also undertaken beneath patios and gravel pathways.
