VHE undertook the infrastructure works at the Swadlincote site following a phase of earthworks.
VHE undertook the excavation and construction of a fully serviced and functional Section 278 access roundabout off the A515 William Nadin Way, into the site up a Section 38 access / egress road.
The works included the construction, installation and fit out of a Foul Water Pumping Station, including link drainage.
Full road SW drainage complete with runs off into the development plots were constructed along with a Foul Water pumping main, with associated drainage within the carriageway.
Balancing Ponds had been constructed during a previous phase of works undertaken by VHE on site were connected to the draining, with the inclusion of bypass drainage around each balancing pond.
The design brief for the culvert was built by VHE into the diverted brook, to enable the Section 278 works to access The site. The section was also scour protected as per the requirements of the Flood Internal Drainage Board. The use of gravitas scour protection saved the client financially against their original design proposals.
A serviceable Electrical Substation was installed on site by GTC.
In relation to the highways, vehicle restraint systems, street lighting and illuminated signage were installed, along with building up and soiling the verges. Kerbs and laying tarmac, along with associated paving was completed for handover to the client.
