VHE are the Principal Contractor at the Sighthill Transformational Regeneration Area remediation project and, together with Glasgow City Council, invited delegates of the Scottish Contaminated Land Forum (SCLF) to attend a site visit on Thursday 8th September.
The day commenced with short presentations from Glasgow City Council on the vision and masterplan for the Sighthill Transformational Regeneration Area; Sweco on the investigation and contamination issues; VHE and WYG on the design and delivery of the remediation project; and Gardiner and Theobald on the further works required to deliver the masterplan.
Following the presentations a great deal of interest was shown as guests were escorted on a walking tour of key areas of interest on the 50Ha site. Work is progressing well and VHE site staff have expressed real satisfaction with the levels of collaboration shown by all parties in the delivery of this milestone remediation project, so important to the regeneration of this part of Glasgow.
Phil Amos, SCLF Chair, said of the site visit; “On behalf of SCLF thank you for your hospitality at the visit to the Sighthill TRA project. A truly impressive project with a similarly impressive approach.”
