Having undertaken two phases of remediation for the Homes and Communities Agency at the former industrial site on the banks of the River Trent in Nottingham, VHE were recommended to carry out further enabling works on the same site for development partnership, Blueprint.
The site is now being developed for residential use alongside the Trent and around the former riverside harbour which will house some 350 homes. VHE’s scope of works involves removing the top section of the river and basin retaining wall using a concrete saw, in compliance with a carefully choreographed procedure, to stop any material falling into the water.
Precast concrete wall units are being installed along 200 metres of riverbank and 250 metres of the basin perimeter with concrete repairs being undertaken to the capping beam. The wall removal works are progressing well with Phase 1 handed over on time.
