Onward and upward at Ackworth

VHE have commenced works at the former Onward Holdings transport yard in Ackworth which will create platforms and infrastructure for 280 homes. VHE have been awarded both the remediation and Phase 1 Roads and Sewers contract by Strata Homes. This includes the excavation and turnover of over 200,000m3 of former quarry backfill and the preparation for a 4000m3 precast concrete Carlow attenuation tank. This is now the third phase of works to be undertaken on the Ackworth site by VHE on behalf of Strata Homes.

Part 2A Garden Remediation in Coedpoeth, Wrexham

VHE have been appointed to a Wrexham Council framework for the remediation of residential properties, determined under Part 2A of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. In total 11 properties will undergo remediation by VHE on what is a former lead smelting works site in Coedpoeth. The works are due to commence on 2nd March 2015 and are scheduled to last 8 weeks.

Hunstanton Beach

VHE have commenced works on a second visit to Hunstanton beach for the relocation of beach sand and shingle which during the winter is moved around the Norfolk coastline by tides and storms. The works are part of a 2 year framework for the Environment Agency for sister company AMCO Engineering. The works are due to take 3 weeks to complete, however with the tide and weather the scope and scale of the works are constantly moving. The works must be timed to take account of the Spring tides.
