We are pleased to announce that a Performance Beyond Compliance Certificate was awarded to Site Agent Gary Moore following two recent visits to the Sighthill TRA, Contract 1, under the rules of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
The site complied with the Scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice by achieving high scores in the following categories; ‘Care about Appearance’, ‘Respect the Community’, ‘Protect the Environment’, ‘Protect everyone’s Safety’ and ‘Value their Workforce’. The project achieved an overall score of 38.
The Sighthill TRA, Contract 1, is a high-profile ground remediation contract within Glasgow, incorporating the remediation of contaminated soils and encapsulation of Galligu, a by-product of the Soda Ash industry in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The project also includes demolition, the removal of redundant landscaping structures, earthworks to realise a serviced development platform, slope stabilisation, new road works, utilities installation and construction of bus turning circle. Ecological mitigation of the works is also taking place where required.
The aim of the Considerate Contstructors scheme is to improve the image of construction. This is achieved by monitoring all registered sites, suggesting areas where improvements could be made and rewarding those who are performing at the highest levels. VHE are proud to have scored highly in all five sections.
