This year, on Saturday 14th September, VHE employees will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds and awareness for Barnsley Hospice.
The famous walk requires willing and able participants to tackle the peaks; Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12hours. It is hoped that the challenge will raise vital funds and awareness for Barnsley Hospice in support of all their work. The hospice provides specialist care to individuals who have active and progressive life-limiting illnesses. The care provided, both to the patient and their families, aims to improve quality of life through difficult and challenging times. This service is not fully subsidised by the NHS and so relies on the generosity of individuals and local businesses to support their dedicated work.
