VHE’s success in delivering sites for residential development continues with the commencement of works at the former Brough Aerodrome site for Horncastle Group.
The Brough South Phase 1 Enabling Works, on the northern banks of the Humber, involves ground improvement using surcharge and stabilisation techniques to create platforms for residential development. VHE will employ BWB Consulting as designers with TerraConsult undertaking extensive settlement monitoring. Attenuation ponds will be created and hard materials will be recovered and processed for future use. The works will be undertaken in two phases with final placement of material to raise site levels being undertaken following a period of surcharge.
The development also includes the provision of a new relief road to take traffic from the nearby A63 in and out of Brough centre and to improve access to the BAE Systems factory and Enterprise Zone.
The 100 acre site project has been designed to accommodate new homes, retail space, leisure uses, commercial and industrial businesses together with supporting amenities. The £200m project is being brought forward by the Horncastle Group on behalf of the Brough South Consortium.
