As part of a Community Benefits Policy Glasgow City Council are focused on the development and regeneration activity within the city, one key objective being to help local residents access quality, sustainable employment and training opportunities.
This is standard operating practice for VHE wherever we have developed long term project opportunities, accordingly in Scotland we have recently recruited and are training; two Labourers and two Banksman. VHE operate an upskill programme where a Labourer can become a Banksman and then progress to a Site Agent.
VHE have provided Community Benefits through numerous schemes undertaken in the Glasgow area over recent years. These include a cycling to school scheme and a school film project based on the Sighthill regeneration.
To further support our expansion in Scotland VHE have recruited Alex Paris and Richard Calder as Site Agents, Bryan Steadman as a General Foreman and Merilin Melesk as an Environmental Engineer.
All the new recruits are currently working on the Sighthill TRA contract in Glasgow.
