Performance Beyond Compliance Recognition for VHE

The Neepsend Gasholder Demolition project in Sheffield, being delivered by a VHE team led by Site Agent Iain Power, on behalf of National Grid, was recently audited by the Considerate Constructors Scheme and judged to deliver ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’.

The Considerate Constructors auditor executive summary contained the following phrases:

Overall an excellent site with exceptional practices regarding Health & safety on site.
For the nature, duration and value of the site there have been and continue to be some excellent practices being carried out to ensure that those affected by the works are kept informed, updated and consulted.
Environmentally some excellent practices at Company and site level.
Exceptional Health & safety practices on site that ensure the safety of the public, visitors, neighbours and the workforce.

It is also significant following National Grid’s notification from the CCS that the Neepsend project was their 100th registered site.

VHE Contracts Manager Tony Walton commented “this audit result is testament to the hard work and professionalism of all those involved with the project and my thanks go to the whole team. Now we have set this high standard we need to make sure we repeat this performance on all of our sites.”
