VHE are delighted to announce that, in partnership with Grontmij, we received a Certificate of Excellence at the ICE awards in Harrogate on Friday March 6th.
Working in collaboration with Grontmij, a leading European consulting and engineering company, VHE carried out the remediation of a former gasworks in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. The project team used a range of remediation techniques over a prolonged period, testing the skills of all involved on a daily basis
The ICE Yorkshire and Humber Awards give public recognition to outstanding examples of the art of civil engineering. Awards are made for civil engineering projects with a regional dimension in recognition of achievement, excellence or innovation in civil engineering.
The Sir John Flower Award is a regional award for projects less than £500,000 and saw VHE up alongside many other established contractors.
One of the award judges commented: “The quality of the design and the approach to the remediation of the site drew this project to the judge’s attention. Re-profiling the lands and solving health and safety risks were carried out successfully while overcoming difficult access and severe space limitations’’.
Receiving the Certificate of Excellence award continues to strengthen VHE’s reputation as a leading land remediation contractor in the north.
