VHE have enjoyed raising awareness for Tiny Tickers during 2017 with staff taking part in fundraising events such as a 170 mile coast to coast cycling challenge and supporting Heart Week.
VHE have enjoyed raising awareness for Tiny Tickers during 2017 with staff taking part in fundraising events such as a 170 mile coast to coast cycling challenge and supporting Heart Week.
Following the latest donation of £528.50 raised at the Christmas Dinner Dance, Jenni Cowlishaw, Senior Fundraiser at Tiny Tickers said; “This fantastic amount of money could pay for us to give specialist one on one training for seven sonographers, so they are better able to spot heart defects in baby at the 20 week scan! We estimate that each sonographer carries out 300 scans each year so that’s over 2,500 babies that will get the best possible chance at a good start in life, thanks to you.”

VHE Managing Director, Steve Stiff, commented; “Once again the staff, families, friends and colleagues of VHE have shown their fabulous generosity in their support for last year`s chosen charity, Tiny Tickers. As usual the choice of charity was selected democratically, but we have our very own, and very charitable, Dr Rob Shortland to thank for initially promoting Tiny Tickers.
Most of us knew very little about the fantastic work Tiny Tickers do in both raising awareness of the number of new-born babies with heart conditions or the impact early detection can have on survival chances or future quality of life, so it`s really rewarding to know that much of the money our team have raised and donated will be going into training programmes to directly increase detection rates.
A special thank you must also go, once again to the team who took part and supported coast to coast cycle event last summer , for their time and effort, and for everyone`s generosity and support, raising well over half of the total donations in the year.
It has been a pleasure to be associated with this young and rapidly growing charity and we wish the whole of the Tiny Ticker`s team every success in their ambitious mission.”
