VHE will be attending an event to celebrate the Ribble Estuary Hesketh Outmarsh opening and NNR Strategy Launch.
The event follows the successful earthworks project in Hesketh that was completed by VHE in August. The earthworks were carried out to form a new habitat to attract wildlife back into the estuary and improve the existing flood defence embankment (completed in phase one) prior to allowing the area to be subject to tidal inundation by breaching the outer defence flood embankment. The project was divided into three phases with the most recent package of works being the third and final phase.
The site includes land owned by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Natural England and longstanding VHE client, the Environment Agency, who have invited us to attend the event at the Ribble Estuary on Thursday 21st September, 11am -3pm. The day will include presentations, a visit to the site and networking.
The event is in order to celebrate three significant achievements;
VHE will have an exhibition stand and will be available to discuss our involvement with the Hesketh Outmarsh East project or any land remediation and coastal protection enquiries you may have.
