Continuing our long standing commitment to providing work experience and vocational opportunities to students, VHE were pleased to recently welcome Victoria Simpson, a Work Placement Student from Barnsley College.
During her two week placement Victoria spent time at sites in Yorkshire, including Bath Road in Leeds (pictured below), and at our Head Office in Barnsley to gain first-hand experience of working on construction sites and knowledge of how a business operates. As Victoria is currently in her second year of a Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering she was able to work closely with our Engineers and further develop her interest and expand her knowledge before commencing University later this year.
The placement was a huge success with Angela Webster, Placement Liaison Officer at Barnsley College commenting; “On behalf of the college and myself I would like to personally thank you for providing this opportunity for us. Being able to participate in work experience is invaluable to our students as it helps them consolidate their learning and helps them make informed choices regarding further study and career paths.”
