Reading Sewage Treatment Works

The reclamation of the former Reading Sewage Treatment Works is being carried out by VHE construction in order to assist development of the 26-hectare site in to residential properties.

The project involves the demolition of the existing structures and buildings, the diversion of exiting surface water and foul water sewers, the removal of contaminated materials from the site, the re-profiling of the site and the construction of primary infrastructure.

The primary infrastructure element of the contract is 'design and build' and includes the construction of a new junction with the A33, a new bridge over Foundry Brook and an adoptable estate road through the site.

Part of the site is programmed to be handed over prior to deadline for the commencement of the construction works by the developer, Kennet Properties.
