A major focus of VHE is in the identification of opportunities to maximise the value of recyclable material. This could benefit the customer in cost savings by incorporation within the contracted works (e.g. in roads and sewers), or alternatively by providing a valuable resource for use in future phases through value engineering, or by providing a sales revenue.

Through early involvement and the ability to identify opportunities to recycle, VHE can maximise the potential for sites to be self sustainable and providing customers with significant cost savings and major environmental benefits.



Our recycling operations can produce:

• Drainage material to adoptable standards
• Pipe bedding to Specification for Highway Works (SHW) clause 503
• Class 6F1 and 2, 6I and 6N
• Type B filter media to SHW clause 505
• Type 1 SHW clause 803
• Grit Sands to BS 882

Potential opportunities are being sought to develop what could be seen as the ultimate in sustainability: making new concrete from old.
