The decontamination and removal of buildings and soils impacted by various nuclear programmes, as well as sites adversely effected by the use of radioactive materials, has long formed a part of our diverse portfolio. Our skills in safe and carefully managed remedial techniques have been applied for customers such as UKAEA, BNFL and the MoD.

Key to our success on several occasions has been our close collaboration with our sister company Shepley Engineers. Their record and reputation in working in such potentially hazardous conditions as Sellafield is unrivalled.

Shepley is a major mechanical contractor and project manager specialising in term contract works involving nuclear and chemical process plants. The work involves high integrity fabrications and assemblies in carbon, stainless steels and exotic materials in toxic or environmentally sensitive areas.

It is a prime business objective of both VHE and Shepley Engineers, to further develop our resources in this sector.
