Considerate Constructors Scheme
In line with our group-wide approach to customer care and corporate social responsibility we have endorsed a policy requiring all new projects valued in excess of £500,000 to apply for registration to the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme requires contractors to implement community liaison measures such as letters of information, maintenance of good contact with neighbours, setting up a 24-hour hot line, and ensuring courteous behaviour towards the public.
On 18 March 2009, VHE attended the Considerate Constructor National Awards Ceremony and were presented with a Bronze Award for our Minsterley Road, Pontesbury project.
We have recently been presented with a Bronze Award for our Royal Inch Crescent project in Renfrew.
Integrated Management System
VHE operates an Integrated Management System that is registered to:
- OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety Management
- ISO 14001 for Environmental Management
- ISO 9001 for Quality Management.
The scope of the registration is for civil engineering activities including clearance of derelict and contaminated industrial sites, land reclamation and regeneration, recycling and disposal of contaminated materials and new highway construction.
